The World Expo traces its history back to the "Great Exhibition of the Works of Industry of All Nations" held in London in 1851. As it has developed up to the present day, the World Expo has become a large, major international exhibition.Many countries take advantage of this grand gathering to present for the world new trends in culture, technology, and products along with their influences in life. It can be called the crystallization of a period's wisdom and civilization, and a peek into life in the future as well.
The World Expo for 2010 is being held in Shanghai, and more than 200 countries and international organizations are participating, the Taiwan Pavilion being one of its venues. The Taiwan Pavilion takes the form of a sky lantern of prayer entitled "Mountain, Water, and Lantern of the Heart." It emphasizes that the beauty of Taiwan lies in the humanistic spirit cultivated in the millions upon millions in Chinese culture that fill this great land, eternally and unfailingly aspiring towards innovation and development.At this year's World Expo, it takes the form of a digital showcase using high technology on the beauty of Taiwan's nature, cities, and people.The National Palace Museum has always played an important role in the heritage of and innovation within culture.So for this World Expo, we have prepared a film entitled "Treasures of Chinese Art." Crossing the boundaries that divide cities, it introduces the treasures of Chinese culture to peoples from countries around the world, moving audience's hearts with a touch of Chinese culture!
