Educational outreach

  • The NPM provides diverse educational offerings for children and their families before, during, and after their visits. The offerings include family-friendly learning spaces and service facilities, artifact-themed courses, cultural exhibitions and performances, and online learning resources. Through these offerings, art is integrated into visitors’ everyday life, and aesthetic education is nurtured from an early age.

*All domestic students (i.e., those holding a valid student ID issued by a school accredited by the Ministry of Education) and individuals under the age of 18 (of any nationality) may visit the NPM free of charge.

  • Children's Gallery

To serve visitors of all ages, the NPM has created an immersive, magical theater that integrates digital interactive technologies with physical teaching tools. Facilities such as family restrooms, nursing rooms, all-gender restrooms, resting areas, and stroller parking spaces are available to provide services that accommodate visitors’ different needs.

Aesthetic Education From an Early Age

To promote high-quality art and cultural activities for children, the NPM utilizes its artifacts and exhibition materials to design thematic courses for parent–child visitors every year. Through regularly changing artifact themes, the courses present in-depth, easy-to-understand artifacts interpretations complemented by art creation activities. These efforts provide children with diverse aesthetic experiences and help cultivate their cultural appreciation.

Bringing Contemporary Culture into Everyday Life

During traditional and seasonal festivals, the NPM invites performing arts groups to deliver art and cultural performances based on the themes of its current special exhibitions. These performances are held in open spaces within the NPM to attract new visitors and offer comprehensive artistic and cultural experiences encouraging visitors to explore NPM’s exhibitions. By providing educational outreach activities that engage the senses, the NPM creates richer and more dynamic museum experiences for its visitors.
